Our client, a leading regulated provider of consumer financial claims management services, has enjoyed strong year on year growth since inception. Core services include advising and supporting consumers with respect to potential claims for compensation, losses or damages suffered by any inappropriate or incorrect action of financial and insurance providers.

In this evolving sector, the Sales Director needs to lead and implement high quality sales and business development strategies in line with company objectives. Reporting to the Managing Director, his/her challenge will be to enhance revenues and drive forward profit margins by delivering value added service solutions to consumer clients.

This appointee will be responsible for:

•           Creating simple, robust and sustainable sales development plans within an agreed operating budget, in order to drive sales revenue, market share and profitability.

•           Inspire, lead and enhance the performance of the sales teams.

•           Advising the Board on wider initiatives that develop the client’s market position and profitability in the short, medium and longer term.

•           Build relationships externally with key stakeholders, suppliers and clients as required in support of activities to grow the business.

•           Assist in organisation of and co-ordination of relevant marketing, promotional and advertising efforts to insure that they are effective, on-strategy and within budget

•           Manage sales resources and conduct resource planning for future needs.

•           A part of the senior leadership team, become instrumental in building sustainable future for the business.

•           Provide an interface between the sales function and the wider business.

The Candidate:

•           Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) of successfully leading a consumer facing sales department, ideally from the insurance, financial services or contact centre sectors.

•           Experienced in managing and running sales teams within a highly pressured and target driven environment.

•           Ability to understand the commercial drivers of the business as well as the creative ones.

•           Ability to plan and manage teams, processes, performance and systems effectively.

•           Strong relationship builder and assertive style, good facilitation and influencing skills

•           Commercial flair with sound financial analysis

•           Highly motivated - able to work with limited supervision

•           Able to adapt to a constantly changing and growing business environment.

•           Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise an often conflicting workload.
