Our client, a substantial actuarial and employee benefits consultancy is looking to expand its London based pensions department at the part qualified through to newly qualified levels.As well as a competitive remuneration package, the company offers an excellent training and development programand actively encourages part-qualified actuaries to attend client meetings creating a great opportunity to develop your consulting skills. Working under the guidance of a Scheme Actuary, successful applicants will be working on client projects and enjoy significant client exposure. In addition, the roles involve mentoring, supervision and checking of work performed by junior actuarial assistants.

 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a pensions consulting /technical environment.
  • Current knowledge of UK pensions legislation and professional best practices.
  • Have made good progress with Institute and Faculty of Actuaries examinations.
  • Fluent in English language, both written and oral.
  • Experience of communicating complex concepts in writing and orally.
  • Able to use own initiative and to problem solve complex technical issues.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to lead individual client projects.
  • Able to adapt to a constantly changing and growing business environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise an often conflicting workload.
  • Strong and ethical commercial business acumen.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and general spreadsheet software.

Interfaces & Authority:

  • Reporting to a Scheme Actuary.
  • Liaison with the colleagues within the actuarial teams, administration teams and consultants.
  • Working with senior executives from a client organisation including Trustees, pension Managers, Finance Directors and CFO’s.
