Data Analyst

My Client is a lead financial management and administration company who are currently looking for a passionate Data Analyst to join their growing team in Redhill.

This role will be turning data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. The right candidate will establish a new Data Analysis function which will be creatively designing and delivering analysis services across the Group.

Your key objective will be to define and own the data capture and analysis methodologies. As the data expert, you will inform the development program to ensure that data collected and held on our systems is managed using best practice methodologies.

The Role

  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Informing on system developments to ensure best practice is followed during the design phase of any new data systems.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a data analyst.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel at an Advanced level.
  • Logical with the ability to problem-solve.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Experience in data migration with large sets of data.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages used with Microsoft SQL server, such as SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS, databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, and programming languages such as C#.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • Some experience of working in the Employee Benefits industry would be preferable, although not essential.
  • Educated to degree level in a numerate or IT literate discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.
