The Role

We are now seeking an experienced Immigration Caseworker with IAAS/LAA Level 2 accreditation and strong Legal Aid experience to join a thriving practice in Manchester. Supervising the daily administration and support staff, the successful Immigration Caseworker will manage a complex and challenging caseload. Representing a variety of clients on all levels of immigration, drafting witness statements; asylum applications; appeals; providing written legal documentation; managing applications to the Home Office; providing advocacy in court; attending clients in various Immigration Detention Centres; liaising with Immigration Authorities; interviewing and; providing guidance to clients on completion of documents.

Additionally, the successful Immigration Caseworker will deliver presentations to various centres within the UK, attending and delivering training courses within the department when required.

The Candidate

Applications are welcome from IAAS Immigration and Asylum Caseworkers with at least one years’ experience.

Ideally, you will have an excellent academic background having obtained an LLB or law degree as well as being fully Accredited to Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme Level

With extensive knowledge of Legal Aid restrictions.

Compassion for this field of work with an empathetic nature and ability to communicate clearly at all levels will be a fundamental skill for this role.
